I am having trouble believing this a real thing...

:S

Honestly though, not too excited for a KEX engine based remaster. Will not be too different than BloodGDX really. What is more intriguing is this implies that Atari is taking its IP ownership more seriously.

EDIT: Sadly, I do not have admin power.

I can't wait to see this on Steam just like the other Nightdive Studios releases, I'd buy the heck out of it. I already bought One Unit Whole Blood but that's just the vanilla games plus DOSBox without any enticing bonuses.

I'm kinda curious to see what kind of achievements the game will have in case they decide to add them, to be honest the Build Engine games on Steam are the only games where I can easily get 100% achievement completion.

I'm fairly sure Nightdive Studios played a big part in convincing them to do something with the IP, not so long ago Nightdive Studios went miles to remaster the No One Lives Forever series but couldn't secure the rights. Kudos to them for what they do.

Not that I am personally interested in such things, but I suppose if they are adding in Steamworks and GOG Galaxy support they could add in things like achievements.

I just hope they do not go and send M210 a cease and desist letter...

Gonna buy a lot of copies for friends, official stuff is actually really important, an official port can bring more fans than a no-legal java port. Actually i like a lot bloodgdx nad it helped to keep the community alive a little but official stuff can big really a big benefit!
If you check forums and comments in the articles of the internet about this remaster (and there is A LOT), people are very hyped, i hope sales can be big enough to motivate the owner of the IP (Atari/WB) to make a few new stuff for the game (BLOOD 1), i can dream but who knows what can happen, a door is opened now.

If nothing happen, well, we tried but at least an official port will bring far more people in the community i think.
What i would like to see is the possibility to have new "official expansions" made by the fans, could be so cool, well, we will see but i think we have to stay positive with what is coming, BLOOD community is not really active anymore anyway.
Let's hope for the best!

Also yeah, bot who spam topic :/

Totally agree with Manhs above.

I am usually not interested in achievements myself, but I had a lot of fun getting the ones for Duke Nukem 3D: Megaton Edition and Shadow Warrior: Classic Redux. I could also get all of them since I know Build engine games way better than modern games.

By the way Gideon, do I need an account to upload images to the Blood Wiki? If so, I'd like one in order to add a Gallery section to the Blood: Dead on Arrival article.

Yes, you need an account to upload files, though I could do it for you.

As for the port, I am happy enough having learned that it will fully support custom content like Death Wish. So if nothing else it will not be any worse than BloodGDX, and could well be better. Would hate to have incompatibilities splinter the community. The custom scripting provided by the Kex Engine might make for some interesting projects too.

And yes, official does matter, if for no other reason than loads of people are too dependent to ever play a game outside of Steam. The poor suckers...

I do wonder where L3GEND got to. He has not updated the news in over a year, especially with the biggest news in decades to report...
