BLOOD GDX is a java port of BLOOD, standalone but need the full game to play it:
First version here
http://m210.duke4.net/index.php/files/viewdownload/9-java/50-bloodgdx
Don't forget to read the instructions, you need the original game.
It's v0.75, he wants release a "beta" to test the bugs with the fans, he said: "Well, I made a first release of it. It can be called as beta, therefore app may can crashes. If you get a crash, see the log file (bloodgdx.log) or launch jar file in console mode: java -jar bloogdx.jar"
Let's spread the word!
So awesome! *Tchernobog*

EDIT:
Extract everything in your BLOOD folder (files of the folder and the sub folder), it should work, if you think some bugs, check the guestbook:
http://m210.duke4.net/index.php/guestbook

Works fine on Fedora with OpenJDK other than taking a long time to boot up. Fortunately it is fast once loaded, with smooth 60 FPS. My only real issue with it is even at the lowest sensitivity I find the turning too fast when using keyboard turning. Oh, and I would like the ability to use MIDI music as well as CD music. Everything else seems to be working that should be, as I am guessing there are no voxels yet because he has not finished the code for that. Oh, and Death Wish loaded fine except for the cinematics, which is cool. The default controls are really weird though...

One thing I do wonder is what M210 plans for accommodating add-ons that feature replacement art assets. I notice Cryptic Passage is already breaking this, with the boats in level one featuring a rather beastly paint job... :-P

I suppose some way to import changed art files might be in order.

Dissapointed that M210 has said he is not planning to release the source code for GDXBlood. I understand that the legality is not clear, but that should also be true for the binary.

A friend told me, it could be dangerous to release the sourcecode because it's still like a "reverse-engineering"....

Who knows what can happen later, he could add some modding tools in the far future or a better map maker but we must be patient.

But yeah, too bad if he can't release it at all :S

personaly, i wait more the v1 with the multiplayer and new options and stuff for the normal game but i understand people would want make mods and modified stuff for it, sure, it could bring some modders who could make fun stuff. :)

It is more long term support that worries me about a closed binary. Still, yeah, certainly be happy for what we got. This is a massive acheivement.

I think the next steps should be:
-Get most bugs fixed.
-Get a 'Vanilla Blood Source Port'. In other words, a Source Port which keeps original Blood intact and bring us resolution improvements, mouselook and things like that.
-Add features to GDXBlood: always guns akimbo, beast claws...
-Create a new MapEdit. Something like DoomBuilder, with an easy interface and every feature acessible and easy to understand for everyone.

What do you think guys?

Cabal's Return. Wait for it.

for the new features, i like if there was some new mp modes like maxlives for coop (survival then), team deathmatch ect....
Also, no friendly fire in coop could be cool! With just some options maybe....?

A new mapedit could be awesome, doombuilder helped to make the maps easier than in the past, for DOOM. I have tried it and doombuilder is really easier to use than BUILD so it could be a great idea but someone asked him about that and he said:
"I don't planning it, but maybe in far-far future"

Let's hope ^^

It really does not need to be M210 to make a new MapEdit though. I am sure he would at least share details about the map system to anyone coding an editor

Yes, a new MapEdit could atract people who consider this program hard.

I think M210 priority is GDXBlood so I expect updates in the near future.

Just tried the latest version and it is a major improvement, still a bit glitchy, but within almost tolerable limits. The turning speed seems better now, which was my main complaint, and the default controls are less odd. The room-over-room bug is still irksome, but Makarov says that will have to wait for him to rewrite his renderer. Not quite sure I would play a whole game through it yet, but in a version or two I certainly think so. Will probably get around to finishing Banzai's Add-On or French Meat through this. I like the new opening launcher. The initial load time is still annoyingly long, but being on a runtime dependent language like Java it is not unexpected. Still, hopefully fuller optimization can occur with time. It is really nice being able to play Blood at a full 60 FPS, it really makes the gameplay more responsive than in DosBox I have to quicksave a lot less, and it makes tossing dynamite and firing alt-fire flares really fun.

So until now, I could not find any deviations in the sense of weapons. It just feels like the original.

The voxel support is great, it looks great.

It is so far the best blood project ever. Alex apparently thinks about a splitscreen feature. This is a wet dream...

Might start playing some BloodGDX after work while I wait for my girlfriend's shift to end and we can go home. Just got a new job at the honey coop warehouse, after years of working seasonally at an apiary. Got to finish my current Wolf4SDL mod, Die Hard Wolfers Lost Episodes, first though.

I found a few bugs.

You can go into the barrels.

A spiderbite leads to flickering and texture overlaps.
